Magic Boy is a 2D platformer developed by Blue Turtle and published by Empire Interactive in 1993 for MS-DOS, Amiga, and Atari ST. A Super Nintendo version followed in 1996, released by JVC Musical Industries. The game features Hewlett, a young wizard's apprentice who must recapture mischievous creatures he accidentally released.

🎮 Gameplay Overview

In Magic Boy, players control Hewlett as he navigates through four themed worlds:

  • Sand Land

  • Wet World

  • Plastic Place

  • Future Zone

Each world contains 8 levels, totaling 32 standard levels, with an additional 32 bonus levels, bringing the total to 64. The first four levels of any world can be completed in any order, unlocking levels 5 to 8 for that world. The levels are vertically scrolling.

Hewlett uses his magic wand to stun enemies. Once stunned, he can pick them up and send them back to the basement by pressing the "down" button. This capturing mechanic is essential to complete each level. The game also features a points system, with bonuses released upon capturing creatures or destroying certain blocks.

This game has been tested on an original PC and runs flawlessly. Please note that certain games may require installation to the computer’s hard drive in order to function properly. This is often necessary when the game’s size exceeds the 1.44MB capacity of a standard floppy disk or when the game requires additional files and setup that cannot be run directly from the disk.
